I can confirm it is working as intended.

PS: when connecting to an OpenBSD "listener" (server), rnsh displays a warning, which does not prevent it from working, as far as I tried:

/bin/ksh: No controlling tty (open /dev/tty: Device not configured)
/bin/ksh: warning: won't have full job control
