Maybe the ossp-uuid package will do and you can set BUILD_DEPENDS =
devel/uuid.

For another port (geo/cdo, not yet committed), I had to specify
--disable-util-linux-uuid --disable-dce-uuid for configure, so that it
would use ossp-uuid.  That configure script supports three different
uuid packages.
