upgraded to 7.8.
    sysupgrade, reboot, pkg_add -u, reboot

x11vnc gives me this:
    22/10/2025 13:45:57 shmget(scanline) failed.

workaround:
    x11vnc --noshm 


added user to staff, logged in again, confirmed via groups; didn't change anything.

worked famously without --noshm before the upgrade.
