Lateef is named after Shah Abdul Lateef Bhitai, the famous Sindhi mystic and
poet. Lateef provides a "simplified" rendering of Arabic script, using basic
connecting glyphs but not including a wide variety of additional ligatures
or contextual alternates (only the required lam-alef ligatures). This
simplified style is often preferred for clarity, especially in non-Arabic
languages.

This font supports the style of lam-alef ligature which is often used by
Sindhi and other languages of southern Asia. Additionally, diacritics on
isolate and final forms of characters are left offset to the nukat.

Seven weights for this typeface family are included.
