1. solfege won't launch

# pkg_add solfege

makes solfege launch.

there is another suggestion (someone had the same error 5 years ago):

Or maybe solfege wants an update instead of a patch?


2. Having launched solfege, it doesn't play sounds,
throwing errors at you, until you install timidity.

Perhaps, timidity should be a dependency?
