From: Laurence Tratt Subject: Firefox: Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError To: ports@openbsd.org Date: Fri, 22 Aug 2025 17:12:16 +0100 As of a month or so ago, I've been experiencing a growing number of crashes with Firefox on -current, including with 142.0 in ports. I have no idea what's causing them other than that I see this sort of thing in the terminal at the point of exit: Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[C0][GFX1-]: CompositorBridgeChild receives IPC close with reason=AbnormalShutdown (t=108.119) Exiting due to channel error. Exiting due to channel error. Crash Annotation GraphicsCriticalError: |[C0][GFX1-]: CompositorBridgeChild receives IPC close with reason=AbnormalShutdown (t=108.127) Sometimes I can go an hour or two with out a crash. Other times I might get 3 or 4 crashes in a minute. Compared to a lot of people I know, I'm not a massively heavy user of browsers: there's heap and stack space to spare for the browser. I've recreated my profile from scratch (I use a few extensions, but otherwise virtually no customisation) and the problem manifests on two separate amd64 machines. Perhaps the fact that I'm using XFCE is relevant? I'm unsure! Has anyone else seen something similar? Laurie
