I have been using sddm on the home computer for about two weeks. Works decently. I even tried a Debian Tuxedo OS preview install to compare against, and OpenBSD was faster than the linux at loading the Desktop on that old potato. Prodigious, really. I built it on the main laptop(second device), the xenocara WMs/Desktops work fine, other than the base WM's which I am unsure if the .desktop files for those should be added with sddm or should include them at the base set level. If you are accepting suggestions, would the user number next to _gdm, 675 or replace _kdm, 730 be a good number to recycle? Also, is the plan for sddm be added to the kde-plasma-extras meta-package? Hope this helps. Happy hacking and may you have a good one. -- yaydn > On Sun Sep 20, 2026 at 05:31:25PM +0200, Rafael Sadowski wrote: > > Hi ports@, Hi Qt haters, > > > > To keep up with the competition at my hackathon table, I'd like to > > introduce another login/display manager.
